Who are The Weaving Sisters ?
We are two of Katu sisters from the Salavan province in Southern Laos. Our fabrics are very special because we use an ancient style of decoration which includes incorporating glass beads into the warp of the weave. You will never see cloth like this anywhere else and some of these designs can only be bought from our family. There is also the soft and naturally dyed cloth that is used for everyday clothing.
Why we are unique
All our fabric is woven on a backstrap loom which is not used in other parts of Laos. This backstrap weaving style is also different from other parts of the world because the weavers use their feet to stretch the loom. When you visit us, you can arrange to have a tailor made garment designed just for you. You can also place special orders with us that we can post back to your country.
